Magnetic
Chip Conveyor
The magnetic pallet structure has been developed for chip
separation, part handling, and micro metal transport with
its specially surfaced design recognized in the international arena.
It is used for transporting all types of metal chips,
regardless of their shape and type.
General Features
Magnetic Transport Technology: Powerful magnets located beneath the conveyor belt transport chips without direct mechanical contact. This ensures quiet, smooth, and reliable chip movement.
Ideal for Fine and Short Chips: Highly efficient for short, fine, powder-like chips generated from ferromagnetic materials such as steel and cast iron.
Low Maintenance Requirement: Since the conveyor has no slats or chains on the belt surface, mechanical friction is minimal—resulting in long service life and very low maintenance costs.
Clean and Quiet Operation: Chips move in a fully controlled magnetic flow, eliminating bounce, scattering, or clogging. This ensures low noise and a cleaner work environment.
Coolant Recovery System: Coolant carried with chips is separated and returned to the tank, supporting reduced fluid waste and improved coolant management.
Energy Efficient: With fewer moving mechanical components, the system consumes low power while maintaining high performance. Compact and Modular Design: Easy to integrate with CNC machines thanks to its compact, modular structure. Available in various widths, heights, and discharge angles.

Magnetic Chip Conveyor
-
What types of chips is a Magnetic Chip Conveyor suitable for?It is ideal for short, fine, and powder-like chips generated from ferromagnetic materials such as steel and cast iron. It is not suitable for non-magnetic materials like aluminum or brass.
-
What is the difference between a magnetic conveyor and a hinged belt conveyor?A magnetic conveyor transports chips using magnetic force with no mechanical slats or chains, making it quieter, low-maintenance, and highly efficient for fine chips. A hinged belt conveyor is better suited for long, stringy, or coarse chips.
-
Does coolant affect the magnetic system? No. The magnetic unit is not affected by coolant. Chips submerged in coolant are still collected and transported through magnetic force, while the coolant is drained back into the tank.
-
Is there a risk of clogging or jamming?Very low. Since there are no moving mechanical parts like slats or chains, magnetic conveyors are highly resistant to clogging—especially in fine chip applications.
-
Is maintenance difficult? Not at all. With fewer moving parts, maintenance is simple and minimal. Regular cleaning and magnet surface inspection are typically sufficient.
-
Which CNC machines is it compatible with?Compatible with lathes, grinders, machining centers, and any CNC machine producing short or fine ferromagnetic chips. Custom discharge heights and designs can be provided.
-
Can the magnetic strength be adjusted?Yes. Optional magnet strengths are available depending on chip density and material type.
-
Is this system suitable for coolant recovery?Yes. As chips travel, excess coolant drains back into the tank, allowing efficient separation and recovery.
-
Can it be used for non-magnetic chips? No. Magnetic conveyors only work with ferromagnetic materials and cannot transport aluminum, brass, or plastic chips.
-
Is international service available?Yes. Through Astor Europe’s global service network, installation, maintenance, and spare parts support are available worldwide.
